We are expanding into West and Central Africa and are looking for a Senior Consultant/Manager to support the Ministry of Health in the Central African Republic (CAR) by enhancing leadership and management capabilities.
Job Description and Objectives
The Senior Consultant/Manager will provide high-level technical and operational support to mid-level managers within the Ministry of Health in CAR. The role focuses on building leadership, management, and technical skills to help these managers fulfill their roles effectively. The consultant will develop strategic documents, such as immunization progress reports, and strengthen collaboration with stakeholders, partners, and donors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of a capacity-building program for mid-level managers, including training, mentoring, and other development approaches.
- Collaborate with Ministry stakeholders, partners, and donors to support leadership, management, and coordination activities.
- Guide the management of immunization programs through system diagnostics, data analysis, and actionable recommendations for improvement.
- Establish sustainability measures through a Leadership Academy within the Ministry, focused on continuous staff development.
- Develop regional mentoring networks to foster collaboration across health regions.
Monitoring and Reporting:
- Implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks to track the progress of capacity-building initiatives.
- Prepare progress reports and present findings to Ministry leadership and partners.
- Participate in program evaluations to assess impact and long-term sustainability.
Required Competencies

- Strong strategic thinking and leadership abilities.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively with senior government officials and other stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and work in team environments.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in International Development, Public Health, Health Management, or related fields (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in health program management or consultancy roles, with a strong track record of working with government ministries.
