Talent Lab is partnering with our client, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), on the MLE Malaria SNT project. This initiative aims to evaluate malaria prevention, diagnosis, and treatment interventions across Kano and Kaduna states. The project involves assessing health facility performance and patient satisfaction with malaria services through data collection at the Local Government Area (LGA) level.
Activity Brief:
We are seeking qualified candidates to serve as enumerators for our client’s project. The role involves conducting health facility spot checks, gathering data on service delivery, facility readiness, and patient satisfaction, and reporting findings.
Primary Objective:
The primary objective is to collect accurate and reliable data through health facility spot checks within assigned LGAs. Enumerators should be familiar with the local health context, have experience in field/community-level interviews, and be willing to travel within the LGA.
Scope of work
Each enumerator will:
- Conduct spot checks at designated health facilities within their assigned LGA.
- Collect data on malaria diagnostics, treatment, stock levels, and patient satisfaction.
- Ensure data quality by following established protocols and guidelines.
- Report findings promptly to the evaluation team.
Expected Immediate Outputs:
Each enumerator is expected to:
- Attend training sessions on evaluation objectives and data collection tools.
- Conduct facility visits according to a predefined schedule.
- Use standardized tools on Android-supported devices to collect data.
- Ensure data completeness and accuracy.
- Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards.
- Report challenges or issues to the supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
Data Collection:
- Conduct spot checks and collect data on malaria services.
- Verify availability and condition of diagnostic tools and treatment supplies.
Data Quality Assurance:
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of collected data.
- Adhere to data collection protocols and report any issues.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Submit completed data collection forms and checklists.
- Prepare summary reports of findings.
- Maintain records of visits and activities.
Coordination and Communication:
- Coordinate with health facility staff for visits.
- Support community engagement related to data collection.
- Communicate progress and report to the evaluation team.
Ethical Standards and Confidentiality:
- Uphold ethical standards and confidentiality.
- Obtain permissions and informed consent from participants.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a National Diploma; a degree in public health or social sciences is preferred.
- Experience in qualitative data collection, preferably in health-related projects.
- Familiarity with malaria surveillance and evaluation concepts is advantageous.
Other Requirements
- Willingness to travel within the assigned LGA.
- Familiarity with local health systems and malaria programs.
- Ability to speak local languages is desirable.
